TriCounty started the week slowly, but thanks to freshmen sensation, Kayla Vos, TC closed the week strong.
The lady golfers went to the North Pointe Christian Invite on Monday and shot a team high 610.Leading the way for TC was Vos with a 120.Monday, however, just proved to be a warm-up.
Wednesday brought new confidence to the Lady Vikings.Hosting the Lakes 8 Jamboree, TC fired a team best 242 for nine holes; TC finished 4th.Mary Bradley led the Vikings with a 48, and is currently in 2nd place overall in the Lakes 8.Vos had another good day posting a 60.But, the surprise of the day came from Elena Smith, who fired a personal best 65.Ronna Kilts finished the scoring by posting a 69.This, however, was just a tease of things to come!
Thursday proved to be the icing-on-the-cake.With Mary and Elena sitting the match out, TC had to rely on four golfers to carry the load—Vos, Kilts, Scharphorn, and Niles answered the call by posting personal bests: Vos, 109; Scharphorn, 134; Kilts, 136; and Niles, 150.TC posted a 529—an 81 stroke improvement from Monday.Even though the girls might not have won a medal—they did win ice cream from Coach.
TC will be in action on Tuesday, when they travel to North Kent to battle Rockford.
